Antifa and Black Lives Matter protesters in Oakland, California, marched through the streets on Saturday, Aug. 29. The combined BLM and Antifa mob chanted “death to America” while destroying businesses and attacking law enforcement officers. Looting and violence are now becoming more and more common at these riots mainstream media outlets call “peaceful protests.” Video footage shared on Twitter showed masked protesters walking down the streets of Oakland while the sound of glass being smashed fills the air.
The Oakland Police Department posted a video on their Twitter account detailing Black Lives Matter protests in the city. The department said protesters used rocks, bottles, lasers and shields against law enforcement officers — resulting in one officer injured. Police used tear gas and smoke bombs to disperse rioters in turn, arresting six and confiscating improvised shields the protesters used. In another tweet,
Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters are now using “Death to America” as their battle cry at similar protests elsewhere. Townhall.com senior writer Julio Rosas posted videos of the Aug. 26 protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Among the videos he captured was the burning of an American flag outside the Kenosha County Courthouse. Protesters cheered while the flag was being burned, while a female screamed “Death to America!” in the background and kicked the courthouse’s fence afterward.
Incidentally, the chant “Death to America” is widely used by Islamic elements that oppose the United States – most notably Iran.
Callous disregard for human life is a common attitude shared between BLM and Antifa protesters, as seen when a counter-protester was shot and killed during the Aug. 29 rallies in Portland. The victim, identified as Aaron Danielson, was part of a caravan supporting President Donald Trump that arrived in the city. Another American flag was burned to chants of “black lives matter!” as seen in this footage posted by journalist Andy Ngô.
Another video by Ngô showed BLM protesters celebrating Danielson’s death, with a female protester claiming that the victim was a “f—ing Nazi” and the community “held out its own and took out the trash.”
Black Lives Matter and Antifa have been involved in a number of violent incidents ever since protests intensified this year after the May 25 death of George Floyd.
In downtown Portland, Marquise Love was filmed beating Adam Haner after Haner stepped in to stop an attack on another individual. Haner has since been discharged from the hospital after being treated for serious injuries. Meanwhile, Love is now in police custody.
In Kenosha, where Rosas captured the video of protesters burning an American flag, rioters assaulted Kyle Rittenhouse while he was protecting businesses in the area – prompting him to shoot his attackers in self-defense. Rittenhouse shot and killed two rioters and injured one. He is now facing multiple charges.
Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and his wife were almost attacked by a mob of protesters in Washington, D.C., if not for the timely intervention of police officers.
In a Fox & Friends interview the morning after what happened to him and his wife, Sen. Paul claimed that the protesters were part of an “organized interstate racket” and were paid to protest in Washington, D.C. He cited the need for the FBI to be involved in the matter, believing that “something’s going on here and it’s much bigger than people think.” The senator further added that any protesters arrested should be questioned to find out who is paying them to incite riots.
